Adventure Island II

Adventure Island II is a side-scrolling action game for the NES developed by Hudson Soft in 1991, a direct sequel to the original. Players control Master Higgins as he traverses eight visually distinct islands — jungle, glacier, ocean, and cavern — on a mission to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Tina. The standout feature is the dinosaur-riding system: eggs hidden throughout each level contain various dinosaur companions, each with unique abilities such as breathing fire, swimming underwater, or flying. Constantly collecting food to keep the vitality meter from draining is the central survival challenge woven throughout the entire game.
