Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars

A side-scrolling arcade platformer released by Sega in 1986. Alex Kidd and his companion Stella venture through twelve zodiac-themed stages to reclaim the Miracle Stars stolen by monsters. Each level draws on a constellation motif and weaves together platform jumping, rope climbing, swimming, and timed challenges, with a boss modeled after the corresponding astrological sign capping each stage. The game was later ported to the Master System. Colorful visuals and an upbeat soundtrack made it a highlight of Alex Kidd's tenure as Sega's mascot, and it marks a clear stylistic shift in the series from fantasy adventure toward pure platforming.
