Altered Destiny

Published by Accolade in 1990 and designed by brothers Michael and Bruce Berez, Altered Destiny is a graphic adventure featuring VGA 256-color visuals and point-and-click controls. Everyman TV repairman P.J. Barrett is accidentally pulled into a parallel world called the continent of Daltere while servicing a mysterious television set — a land suffering under the iron heel of the tyrant Helmar. P.J. must journey through swamps, caverns, and floating castles to reassemble scattered fragments of a Power Crystal, rallying the oppressed inhabitants to overthrow Helmar before he can find his way home. The game weaves item-based puzzles with multi-character conversations, animated cutscenes, and richly hand-drawn fantasy illustrations.
