Arabian Magic

A side-scrolling beat-em-up from Taito released in 1992, set in the world of One Thousand and One Nights. Up to four players cooperate, choosing from four characters — Prince, Princess, Swordsman, or Wizard — each with distinct melee attacks and magical abilities. Players battle through bustling bazaars, a sultan's palace, underground labyrinths, and a supernatural realm, fighting the henchmen of an evil vizier to rescue the sultan's daughter. Brief aerial combat sequences on flying carpets add variety to the brawling. The game is noted for its vivid colors, Arabian architecture, and imaginative mythological enemies, making it the most exotically themed entry in Taito's early-1990s brawler catalogue.
