Flipull - An Exciting Cube Game

Flipull is Taito's 1989 NES adaptation of the arcade game Plotting. Stacks of colored blocks line the right side of the screen; the player controls a small character holding one block and hurls it at the tower. Striking a block of the same color clears the matches and returns the thrown block to hand, while a miss swaps the held block with whatever was hit. Each level imposes a cap on remaining blocks, requiring the player to clear key formations within that limit. Deceptively deep path-planning and color-sequence memory underlie the simple rules, placing Flipull alongside Bubble Bobble as a pillar of Taito's golden age of casual puzzlers.
