Legend of the Beast King

Legend of the Beast King is a Famicom action game adapted from Sega's acclaimed arcade title Altered Beast. Players control a warrior resurrected by the gods who must descend into the underworld to rescue the goddess Athena. Defeating enemies drops Power Orbs, and collecting three triggers a dramatic transformation into one of several fearsome beast forms — including a Werewolf, Wyvern, and Were-Bear — each granting unique special attacks. Compared to the original arcade release, the Famicom version introduces additional stages and entirely new beast transformations, expanding on the source material. The blend of side-scrolling action and an escalating transformation power-up system delivers a consistently satisfying rush of raw combat excitement.
