Power Blade 2

Power Blade 2 is a side-scrolling action sequel released by Taito in 1992 for the NES, distributed exclusively in North America. Hero Nova returns to a cyberpunk city, wielding the Power Blade—a boomerang-like weapon that flies out and automatically returns. Seven stages can be tackled in any order, and defeating each boss grants a unique ability—multi-throw, a protective shield, a dash, and more—all of which carry over throughout the run. A hidden power suit upgrades the blade to a charged energy form, dramatically boosting attack output. Tight controls, detailed pixel art, and an energetic chiptune soundtrack make Power Blade 2 one of the most underrated action games of the late NES era.
