Super Contra

The arcade sequel from Konami, originally released in 1988 with the NES port arriving in 1990. Players take on the roles of Bill or Lance, battling an alien bioforce army across stages that alternate between side-scrolling and top-down perspectives. A variety of weapon power-ups are on offer, and the two-player co-op mode cranks up the action considerably. Delivering the same high-octane firepower and satisfying pace as the original Contra, Super Contra stands as one of the definitive action shooters on the NES.
