The Lord of the Rings

Developed by Griptonite Games and released in 2002, this GBA adaptation is based on the first two films of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Players choose from five characters — Frodo, Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf, and Éomer — each with over 30 unique levels, bringing the total stage count to more than 150. The side-scrolling action gameplay has players defeating orcs, Ringwraiths, and other foes through melee and ranged combat. Two-player cooperative play is supported via the Game Link Cable, and each character features distinct dialogue and exclusive stages that faithfully trace the events of the films.
