Air Assault

A vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up released by Irem in 1993. Players pilot a fighter jet across eight stages to stop the mysterious Fourth Reich from achieving global domination. The arsenal covers four main weapon types — Balkan spread cannon, Wing arc cannon, Graviton beam laser, and omni-directional grenades — plus two missile modes (straight-fire Megaton and homing) and a screen-clearing bomb. Each stage pits players against giant bombers and tank convoys before a guardian boss closes out the level. Two-player cooperative play is supported. The game never received a home console release, remaining an arcade exclusive throughout its run.
