Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty

A 2D arcade fighting game released by Fuuki in 1998, set in an Eastern fantasy dynasty where swords and sorcery coexist. Twelve warriors clash over the legendary Asura Blade, said to grant any wish. The system uses four attack buttons plus a guard button, combined with a manually activated power gauge and a super-move gauge. Each character wields a distinct weapon — swords, spears, twin claws, hammers, or sorcery — giving every fighter a unique range and rhythm. Hand-drawn high-resolution sprites, dramatic between-round cutscenes, and an ethnic-fusion soundtrack establish a striking visual identity. The sequel, Asura Buster, retained the same core combat framework.
