Baltron

Baltron is a vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up released by Jaleco in 1985 for the Famicom. Players pilot a space fighter through a series of planetary and fortress stages, blasting alien craft and ground-based gun emplacements. Boss encounters await at the end of each level, and power-up items collected along the way boost firepower. The visuals and sound carry a quintessential 1980s space sci-fi flair, with a brisk pace and escalating enemy patterns that grow more demanding stage by stage. As one of the Famicom's early shoot-em-ups, it stands as a representative early work from Jaleco on the platform.
