Bomberman II

Hudson's 1991 Famicom sequel finds the white Bomberman framed for a crime and thrown in prison, blasting his way through the stages to escape and clear his name. Core gameplay follows the established formula: place timed bombs on grid-based maps to destroy soft blocks and eliminate enemies, while collecting power-ups that expand bomb count, blast radius, and movement speed. Kicking bombs and walking through walls are among the upgrades on offer. The standout addition is three-player simultaneous multiplayer — the first time the Bomberman series introduced a dedicated multiplayer mode — a decision that would define the franchise's enduring identity as the ultimate party game.
