Breath of Fire

A 2001 GBA remake of Capcom's beloved 1993 SNES RPG. Young warrior Ryu is the last surviving member of the Dragon Clan; determined to rescue his abducted sister Sara, he teams up with winged princess Nina and other companions to overthrow the Dark Dragon Clan. Ryu's signature ability is transforming mid-battle into multiple dragon forms — Fire, Ice, Thunder, and more — unleashing devastating power at critical moments. The turn-based command battle system gives each party member unique field skills such as fishing, diving, and shapeshifting that unlock new areas on the world map. The GBA version adds a quick-move feature and interface refinements, making it both an ideal series entry point and a foundational JRPG classic.
