About this game
The fourth entry in the series, this 1996 Nintendo strategy RPG for the Super Famicom is set on the continent of Jugdral and told across two generations. In the first half, protagonist Sigurd leads his knights through the continent's upheaval only to be betrayed and fall unjustly. In the second, his son Seliph raises the banner of liberation to overthrow the dark cult. The game introduces the Holy Blood lineage system, marriage and child inheritance mechanics, and sprawling maps with castle-capture objectives. Its tragic, ambitious storytelling — combining exceptional strategic depth with a genuinely heartbreaking narrative — is widely regarded as the most emotionally weighty and daring entry in the entire Fire Emblem series.
