About this game
Developed by H&P (later Hyperdevbox) and released in 1997, Interpose is a rare Japanese arcade-style vertical scrolling shooter on DOS. Players choose one of three female pilots, each with a distinct playstyle, then fight through six stages — city streets, caverns, fortresses, and an orbital space station — against a mechanized invasion force. Weapons fall into three categories: standard, laser, and homing. Wingmen can be docked for concentrated fire or spread out for wider area coverage. The game supports a vertical Tate display mode, 256-color fullscreen artwork, and Red Book CD audio tracks, making it a technically impressive PC STG for its era.
