Knights of Valou

IGS Taiwan's 1999 Three Kingdoms beat-'em-up. Players pick one of five legendary warriors — Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, or Huang Zhong — to topple Dong Zhuo and Lü Bu. Beyond standard attacks, specials, and jumps, the game features two-button combo extensions, mounted combat, weapon pickups, and hidden stage routes. Battlegrounds span iconic Three Kingdoms locations including Hulao Gate, Luoyang, and Changban Slope. Blending wuxia swordsmanship, spectacular special effects, and RPG-style equipment progression, Knights of Valou was a phenomenon in Taiwanese and broader Chinese-speaking arcades throughout the late 1990s.
