Magician

An action RPG developed by Eurocom and published by Taxan for NES in North America in 1991. Players take the role of Paul, a young magic apprentice who sets out to defeat the evil Dark One after his mentor Abadon sacrifices himself. The journey spans nine chapters through villages, forests, castles, and demonic realms. The game blends side-scrolling exploration, turn-based boss battles, and a unique spell-crafting system: players collect scrolls to learn spells and freely combine magical components to produce dozens of effects including fireballs, healing, lightning, and levitation. The story features a day-night cycle and multiple endings, making it one of the standout Western-original fantasy RPGs of the late NES era.
