Metal Slug 2

SNK's 1998 Neo Geo MVS run-and-gun sequel. Veterans Marco and Tarma are joined by new female soldiers Eri and Fio, pushing deep into the Rebel Army's territory before ultimately confronting invaders from Mars. The series' signature transformation system expands considerably: gorging on food turns characters fat, mummy gas petrifies them into mummies, and camels can be ridden into battle. The arsenal includes the Heavy Machine Gun, rocket launcher, laser, and shotgun. The hand-drawn pixel animation is extraordinarily detailed and the enemy death gags are deliberately over-the-top, though the sheer volume of sprites frequently causes noticeable slowdown.
