About this game
Developed by Natsume and published by Tomy in 1992, Mitsume ga Tooru is an NES side-scroller based on Osamu Tezuka's manga of the same name. The protagonist, Hosuke Sharaku, appears to be an ordinary elementary schoolboy — the bandage across his forehead conceals a third eye. Remove it, and he transforms into a cold, formidable warrior carrying the royal bloodline of the ancient lost continent of Mu. Players guide him through ruins, caves, and city streets, throwing boomerangs to defeat demons while collecting energy to restore health. Boss characters are drawn from the manga's cast of antagonists, and story scenes are presented in comic-panel layouts. Considered the finest Tezuka manga adaptation on the NES.
