River City Ransom EX is an enhanced GBA remake of the beloved NES action RPG River City Ransom. Players take control of Alex and Ryan as they battle their way through River City's street gangs to rescue their kidnapped girlfriends. The game blends side-scrolling brawler action with an RPG progression system — gold earned in combat can be spent at shops to learn new fighting techniques and purchase stat-boosting items. The GBA version adds new playable characters, additional stages, and link cable multiplayer support, while faithfully preserving the satisfying street-fighting fun that made the original a classic.
