Romance of the Three Kingdoms II is a historical strategy game released by Koei in 1989 and the second entry in the series. Building on its predecessor, this installment substantially expands the officer roster and introduces more attribute dimensions — command, force, intelligence, and charm, among others — while deepening the domestic management system and broadening strategic options to include diplomacy, persuasion, and political marriage. Players select a warlord and gradually build their power by developing agriculture, training armies, and forging alliances, with multiple historical starting scenarios providing varied strategic conditions at the outset.
