About this game
Shatterhand is an action game released by Jaleco for the NES in 1991. The hero, Steve Hermann, is a soldier who lost both hands in battle and had them replaced with powerful mechanical fists; he is now sent to infiltrate the base of the criminal organization NAJA. The game's defining mechanic is its robot companion system: A, B, and C badges are scattered across each stage, and collecting two badges with the same letter summons a combat robot with a unique ability — homing shots, defensive shields, and more. The punchy, kinetic feel of the bionic fists, paired with tight stage design, has earned Shatterhand a reputation as one of the finest action games of the late NES era.
