Silk Worm

Silk Worm is a side-scrolling shooter developed by TECMO for the Famicom. The game offers two distinct vehicles: a helicopter and a ground-based jeep. In single-player mode the player chooses one; in two-player co-op each player takes a different vehicle, enabling coordinated attacks. The helicopter moves freely in any direction and drops bombs, while the jeep rolls along the terrain firing missiles — together they generate overlapping fire coverage that neither could achieve alone. Players must push through relentless waves of tanks, fighter jets, and gun emplacements. The game's brisk pacing and its signature dual-vehicle co-op dynamic are its most memorable design strengths.
