Super Robot Wars Gaiden: Masoukishin – The Lord of Elemental is a strategy RPG spinoff of the Super Robot Wars series, released for the Super Nintendo in 1996. The story is set in La Gias, a hidden underground world, where protagonist Masaki Andoh pilots Cybuster — a wind-element Masouki — and becomes entangled in a power struggle between local factions. Built around wholly original mechs and a self-contained lore, the game retains turn-based grid combat while expanding pilot growth and weapon upgrade systems. Its layered standalone narrative is widely regarded by fans as one of the most story-complete and compelling entries in the entire Super Robot Wars franchise.
