Thunder & Lightning

Thunder & Lightning is a brick-breaking game developed by SETA and ported to the NES by Romstar in 1990, released in Japan as Family Block. Players control a bar balanced atop a warrior's head to deflect a ball and smash the bricks above across 30 levels, each with distinct formations and hazards. Octopuses slow the ball's speed, enemy warriors fire lightning bolts that briefly stun the player, and turtles rain down to clutter the field by solidifying into extra bricks. Power-ups including a paddle extender, triple ball split, and missile launcher add meaningful strategic variety throughout.
