Ys IV

Ys IV: Mask of the Sun is an action RPG developed by Tonkin House for the Super Famicom, released in 1993. Red-haired adventurer Adol Christin answers a mysterious summons to the uncharted land of Celceta, where he investigates the disappearance of the ancient Ys civilization. The game preserves the series' hallmark real-time bump combat while expanding both the map scale and character interactions. Although it shares a world with the concurrent PC Engine release Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys, the two games tell distinct stories. It remains one of the more accomplished action RPGs on the platform.
