Street Fighter III

This NES version of Street Fighter III is an unofficial fan port; the original is Capcom's 1997 CPS3 arcade fighting classic. The canonical Street Fighter III debuted an almost entirely new roster — retaining only Ryu — alongside the Super Art system and the signature Parry mechanic, a precisely timed defensive counter that became the cornerstone of high-level competitive play. The NES fan port is heavily scaled back in visuals and audio due to hardware constraints but retains the basic fighting framework. The original remains a universally recognized milestone in fighting game history for its fluid animation and competitive depth.
