The King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood is a 2002 GBA-exclusive fighting game and the second KOF title developed specifically for the handheld. It retains the three-on-three relay team format and introduces all-new original characters. The story centers on the awakening of the Orochi bloodline, with multiple fighters drawn into conflict by a mysterious force compelling them toward battle. Controls are optimized for the GBA's button layout. It is one of the rare fighting games in the series to construct a fully self-contained narrative and world on a portable platform, independent of the main KOF continuity.
